Who is the course tutor?

Paulo Dantas is a founding partner at Troika, a leading packager in Latin America, and has been involved in language teaching for over 20 years as a teacher, teacher educator, course designer, materials writer and coursebook editor. In the last few years, Paulo has explored ways in which technology and innovation impact teaching and learning and has developed apps, platforms and other digital products for language learning and teacher education. As an EdTech specialist, he has served as an international expert panelist for the Horizon Report Higher Education – International (2016, 2017, 2018) and its Brazilian version as well. Having attended UFPE (Social Studies), Paulo holds a post-graduate certificate in teacher development from the University of Chichester and the Cambridge ESOL DELTA.

What new skills and knowledge will I acquire?

In this course of six interactive workshop sessions, you will gain strategies and knowledge to efficiently integrate artificial intelligence into your workflows. You'll learn to optimize prompts for quality content generation, leverage AI for assessment design, refine machine-generated text, automate fact-checking and localization, mitigate bias and implement ethical AI. Through hands-on practice, case-study analysis, and custom workflows, you will build a toolkit to harness AI's power for productivity, relevance, and quality. You will learn how to build, use and strategically improve your own custom GPTs.

What is the course format?

The course comprises six weekly online workshops that cover a thematically designed progressive syllabus. The modules can be attended as standalone sessions, but we recommend taking them as a full course. Each 90-minute workshop is limited to a maximum of 20 course members to allow space and time for everyone to actively participate in practical tasks, breakout room discussions and meaningful feedback and Q&A opportunities.

Registration for one or more modules also includes:
A follow-up recording of the live workshop module to review at your leisure. 
(Note that breakout room discussions are not recorded.)
Depending on the module, follow-up reference documents and useful links.
Access to a course WhatsApp group where participants can share ideas and experiences with like-minded course participants and ask the trainer questions.

The workshops take place weekly over a seven-week period.
All workshops are 90 minutes and take place online via Zoom.

Yes, particularly if you want to stay current. Based on four iterations of delivery and attendee feedback, we've refreshed all materials and case studies to keep pace with AI developments. Modules 1–5 cover the same core topics but with updated content, while Module 6 has been completely reworked to focus on multi-media publishing. Can I access a recording if I miss a live session?

Yes! Registration for each module includes access to a recording of that workshop session along with the presentation slide deck. Note that breakout room discussions aren't captured in recordings, so attending live offers the fullest experience.

No, the course is open to everyone. FPP directory members receive a 20% discount, but non-members are very welcome to attend.
