Module 5 overview
This module encourages discussion of one of the more controversial aspects of AI: inherent bias in AI tools. You’ll gain practical strategies for using AI more responsibly. We’ll examine cultural, gender and socio-political bias using real examples of problematic outputs, and explore ways to mitigate it. You’ll also be introduced to a custom agent that demonstrates how AI can be used to systematically identify and address bias, including issues that may not be immediately obvious.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
• Recognise and manage the types of bias commonly found in generative AI
• Develop a custom AI bot to systematically assess, report on, and remediate bias in texts
• Implement strategies to ensure culturally responsive and inclusive representation in AI-assisted outputs
